Step 1: Install nodeJS

Use the installer for initial installation as well as updates to nodeJS and NPM.

Step 2: Download Code

Download the repository (ZIP) or clone it using GIT.

Step 3: Install NPM packages

Navigate to the root directory in the command line or terminal.
Run the following command:
```
npm install
```
This will install the required node dependencies listed in the package.json file.
Use the "--save-dev" flag to update the package.json file when adding or removing npm packages.

Step 4: Install bower globally

Install bower globally with the following command:
```
npm install -g bower
```

Step 5: Get bower libraries

Edit the dependencies in the component.json file to configure what bower retrieves.
Navigate to the root directory in the command line or terminal.
Run the following command:
```
bower install
```
This will install the required libraries in the /public/libraries/thirdparty/ directory.
Use the "--save" flag to update the component.json file when adding or removing bower components.

Step 6: Configure port in server.js

Open the server.js file in an editor of your choice.
Update the port to the desired value in the code.
Save the changes.
