Overview

The sensu-gridFlask application is a tool designed to connect to a list of sensu-api servers and display a grid of alerts. It provides an overview of alerts by data center, a detailed view of hosts within each data center, and an events view of currently alerting, warning, or unknown events. Users can filter the alerts by hosts' subscriptions to focus on specific check results. The application supports Docker for easy installation and provides options for running as a service using supervisord or upstart.

Features

Overview by Data Centre: Display a grid of OK, WARNING, CRITICAL, DOWN, and ACK'd alerts for each data center.
Detail View by Data Centre: Show a grid of hosts within each data center, with color changes based on the amount of alerting checks (1 = yellow, > 1 = red, down = purple).
Events View by Data Centre: Provide a grid of events that are currently alerting, warning, or unknown.
Filter by Hosts' Subscriptions: Only show matching hosts' check results in the overview and detail view.
Healthcheck: A healthcheck endpoint is available at /healthcheck, which returns JSON formatted text.

Docker

Install Docker and boot2docker (if on Mac/Windows).
Build and run the Docker image.
Configure the app by copying the conf/config.yaml.sample file to conf/config.yaml and editing it as needed.

Manual Install

If not using Docker, create a virtual environment.
Checkout the sensu-grid directory into /opt/sensu-grid.
Install the required Python libraries (requests, PyYAML, Flask, argparse, gunicorn) via pip install or package management.
Create the app user.
Run the app as a service using supervisord or upstart.
Configure the app by editing the conf/config.yaml file as appropriate and setting the appropriate permissions if using username/password.
