Overview
Project Spero is an open source decentralized job marketplace for refugees, asylums, NGOs, and governments. It leverages blockchain and artificial intelligence to connect about 65.6 million refugees to jobs around the world. The project was created in December 2017 for the biggest Global Virtual GovHack hackathon organized by the UAE Government in 2017.

- Registration for Refugees: Refugees can register themselves or be registered by asylums, NGOs, and governments.
- Validation of Experience: Each refugee's experience is stored in a public blockchain, validating their experience, qualification, and identity.
- Rating System: Refugees can rate employers, and these ratings are used as metrics to give points to employers which can be exchanged for discounts and gifts.
- In-App AI Assistant: An AI assistant named "Amica" helps and motivates refugees, providing career options, resources, and tips for managing distress.
- IPFS and Smart Contracts: Spero uses IPFS to store job information and Ethereum smart contracts to store refugee identity, job applications, employer points, and ratings.
- Secure and Reliable: The use of IPFS and smart contracts ensures the security and tamper-proof nature of the information.
- Accessibility: Spero is accessible to refugees with or without education or access to mobile/computer devices.
